Ms Butt has wide range of interest in elective and emergency general surgery and specializes in oncoplastic breast surgery. Her training includes hundreds of advanced laparoscopic surgeries, various endocrine procedures, oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery procedures. She has worked both in symptomatic and screening Breast services, gaining experience in oncoplastic breast conservation and reconstruction. Ms Butt completed an international fellowship in advanced oncoplastic breast and reconstructive procedures at L’Institut Du Sein Paris, The Paris Breast Centre with world renowned oncoplastic surgeon, Dr Krishna Clough who is considered the father of oncoplastic surgery, where she enhanced her skills in level 1 and level 2 oncoplastic procedures such as the rotational glandular flaps, Latissimus Dorsi flap reconstruction, breast implants and intercostal artery perforator flaps. Ms Butt is passionate about teaching the doctors of future. She has been appointed as a Senior Lecturer at RCSI since 2021 and is the current academic year 3 lead. She is also heavily involved in design and implementation of the new curriculum at RCSI.
