Dr Helen Cooney

Dr Helen Cooney completed her undergraduate medical studies at University College Dublin in 2001. She undertook postgraduate training in internal medicine, followed by higher specialist training in cardiology in Ireland. This included a period of basic science research at the Conway Institute in UCD. In 2013, she travelled to the UK, the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and later the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Exeter, where she undertook subspecialty training in heart failure and advanced cardiac imaging, specifically cardiac MRI and CT. Dr Cooney has been working as a consultant in Ireland since 2016 and in Beaumont Hospital/CHO9 (Dublin North) since 2022. Dr Cooney received her Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in both cardiology and general internal medicine in 2014.
